Frequently Asked Questions

The first obvious benefit is the that you will meet other people who, like you, have a desire to ride their bikes.  Some will be absolute beginners and some will be die-hard racers.  Besides the benefit of making new friends, you will also never again have to ride alone which goes a long way towards creating a safer riding experience.

Other than the weekly rides we do in groups, we will also host a monthly club meeting where guest speakers will present varied topics ranging from their incredible personal experiences related to health, fitness and cycling to practical workshops related to technical aspects of your bicycle.

As a club we will also host several charitible events throughout the year where we will get involved with the community by hosting cycling clinics and other bicycle related events. We also have some major plans in the works to do outreaches among the less fortunate folks of our community (read our Club Charter to get a more complete picture of our purpose as a cycling club in our community).

For those amongst us who cycle (or want to cycle) to lose weight, get into shape and live a healthier lifestyle, having others on the same journey is both motivational and inspirational.  We get to push each other to try just a little harder than what we would have tried were we on our own.

Finally, BVC membership also entitles you to a 10% discount on all purchases at Cycles de Oro, a leading bicycle retailer in Greensboro and a valuable sponsor and partner of our club.
