Recreational Riding

Winter riding and Google groups

googlegroupsThe dark nights are upon us and that means shorter rides staying close to city limits and lit streets. For the beginning of the season, the rides will be on Monday and Thursday evenings. All rides will depart from the old Lowes Foods parking lot in Gibsonville (303 Burke Street, Gibsonville) at 7pm and return at the pace of the group. The route, speed and ride time will be completely dependent on the group dynamic that shows up and comes to a consensus. These rides will be considered as a no-drop category. They are designed to offer a casual introduction to bicycle riding at a conversational pace. There will be some that may wish to ride faster and away from the main group, but everyone should at least depart as one group on a pre-determined route. These rides may include stops at coffee shops, or small warm-up locations around the area so bring a little cash if you wish to do so.

As an alternative means of communication, I have set up a Google group for the BVC. This will offer an email based communication device for people that wish to post rides, changes to routes, local cycling concerns and events. Please take a moment to visit the group's page and become a member.
